Homes on Higher, Wooded Ground
Spray foam insulation in Diamondhead serves a planned community with an unusual setting for the Coast. Unlike most of the flat Gulf Coast, Diamondhead has rolling topography, with elevations from sea level to over 100 feet, bordered by the Bay of St. Louis to the south. Much of the land was assembled by Walter Gex Sr. starting in 1937; development came after NASA's Mississippi Test Facility, now Stennis Space Center, was announced in 1961. Diamondhead incorporated as a city in February 2012.
Houses from the 1970s on
Most homes date from the planned community's growth in recent decades. Common needs: attic sealing and depth, ducts sealed or brought inside with roof-deck foam, and bonus rooms over garages.
Trees and shade
Wooded lots shade roofs, which helps in summer, but debris and damp can affect roofs. We check for leaks and staining before insulating.
Katrina
Katrina made its final Mississippi landfall nearby in 2005; low areas along the Jourdan River and bayous flooded first, while the higher ground fared differently.
Golf course and lakeside homes
Many Diamondhead homes back onto the golf course, lakes or wooded common areas. Those settings bring more shade but also more humidity and pests near the house. Sealing the attic, the crawl space if there is one, and penetrations helps on both counts.

Scheduling
Attic sealing and blown-in work is usually done in a day. Foam jobs need the house empty for 24 hours or more while it cures.
